What is Child Pornography?

Every image of child pornography is the image of a crime . Each image of a child being sexually abused is evidence of criminal acts.

ECPAT is committed to preventing the sexual abuse of children worldwide.

“. . . any representation, by whatever means, of a child engaged in real or simulated explicit sexual activities or any representation of the sexual parts of a child, the dominant characteristic of which is depiction for a sexual purpose.”

- Optional Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography. Article 2(c)
